The two main foundations that my abstract work embodies are color and movement. I use the entire rainbow of colors, but the main colors that influence me would be pink, blue, and green.  I like using combinations of pink and blue to express gender- and green makes me think of nature and the earth. When I make a 'cycle' painting, I am thinking of the greater cycle of life and how many things in life are in a continuous cycle. When I am working on a 'stream' work, I am thinking of the act of 'moving forward' both literately and symbolically. The raw ideals of gender, nature, emotions, women, motherhood and life are also themes I think about and embrace when I am painting.

notable artists who have inspired me in developing my abstract art : Helen Frankenthaler, Clyfford Still, Joan Mitchell, Elaine de Kooning, Emil Nolde, and Mark Rothko
